John F. Long "In The Beginning"

See the hammer and saw John F. Long used when he began building, which was in Bel Air's Kearnie Estates subdivision. John and Mary built their first two homes together here before building their third home on 23rd Ave.

Arnold Pickle and Olive Company

The Arnold Pickle and Olive Company owners once lived in our neighborhood.

"The Arnold Pickle and Olive Company opened its doors in 1905, when Van Buren Street was a dirt road. The Arnold family began delivering pickles, sandwiches and other products to Phoenix merchants by horse and buggy at first, and remained in business until 10 years ago..."
